Blinds, Billiards and Baubles
Proprietors Tracey and John McGinnis relocated their family to The Comox Valley in the spring of 2004 from Southern Ontario.
John grew up in Courtenay and like many others left the area in his youth to pursue employment opportunities and experiences elsewhere.
Tracey, a native of Southern Ontario has visited the Comox Valley many times over the years for family occassions and summer holidays. The decision to move to the Valley was not a difficult one as she had grown quite fond of the area.
Their respective experiences from their employment in Ontario form the basis of this new retail store. Blinds, Billiards and Baubles is by most reactions, a very unusual combination for a store. The idea was simply developed from their experiences.
Tracey, having grown up in a family that owned a chain of Window Coverings stores in Ontario called Slats Blinds has more than 20 years exposure to the industry and has seen many changes. Her experience and knowledge offer a solid footing for this portion of the store.
John having worked in Billiards since the late 1980's offers a similar foundation for the Billiards portion of this company covering Service and Installations as well as Sales and Purchasing for a large Canadian Distributor of Billiard Products.
The Baubles portion of this store would best be described as unique Home Decor' items. The selection is derived from Tracey's tastes, with a particular focus on the somewhat unique where possible but always an emphasis on value and quality items.
